If You Do Not Steward What He Gives You Well, Then Even The Little That He Has Given Us Will Be Taken Away.

Hey Clawson Family!
Song:
Scripture:
Matthew 25:28-29 New Living Translation
28 “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. 29 To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.
Devotional:
If you do not steward what he gives you well, then even the little that He has given us will be taken away.
In our government and in our society we do the exact opposite of this principle. Our government is not wise with stewardship. We are currently 35 Trillion Dollars in Debt. $35,000,000,000,000.00.
In this parable the master took the money away from the servant with one bag and gave it to the servant with ten. Our government takes from the one with ten bags and gives it to the one with one bag. We punish people for being good stewards and reward the lazy servants. Of course, there are people that should get help! People that are mentally handicap, disabled, people that are working jobs that don’t pay a lot -Somebody has to do those jobs - and those people should have assistance.
The bible tells us to take care of the poor, orphans and widows. But our system is so broken because we are set up to take more and more and more away from those that are doing a great job, and making our communities better, and give it to people that just don’t want to work. We are not stewarding well, and that is probably the main reason that our economy is in the shape that it is in.
And there has been this argument for a long time now that it is not fair for some people to make 1,000,000 a year while others are making 40,000. But here is the thing: this is America! We choose what job we are going to do or if we are going to have multiple jobs and get ahead. We choose what education we are going to get. We choose how hard and how many hours we are going to work. Our income should have to do with those things.
What is not fair, and not biblical, is to take from someone who is doing a super good job and working to get ahead, and give it to someone who is being lazy.
We should be taking care of the poor, we should be taking care of the orphans and the widows, and the seniors. We should NOT be taking care of those that are ;azy, and not stewarding well what God has given them. Not according to the bible.
Journal:
In your journal answer the following questions. Have you identified the talents and treasures God has given you? Have you identified the opportunities and appointments God has orchestrated for you so you can use those gifts? Are you stewarding all of your resources wisely?
Training:
Father God,
Thank You for blessing me with talents and gifts. I praise You because You have given me everything I need for life and godliness. Help me not to ignore the opportunities You have designed to use my gifts. Help me to stewart everything you have given me wisely.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
