Because of Christ, We Have Everything

April 1, 2024

Hey Clawson Family!

Hebrews 10: 19-23

A Call to Persevere

19 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death,[b] Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

This past Sunday was Easter, and every year, we come to church to celebrate and remember Christ’s resurrection. We are told the most beautiful love story, in which God exchanged the life of His only Son, Jesus, for ours.

The Bible tells us what Jesus went through to purchase our salvation in Isaiah.

Isaiah 53:5-7

”But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.

Because Jesus obeyed, was beaten, died on a cross, and rose again on the third day, He gave you unlimited access to the Father!

Be filled with joy, considering everything Jesus did for us!

- He experienced the greatest of humiliations for you to hold your head high again.  (Isaiah 53:3-10)

- He destroyed sin’s power: you’re free from its slavery and can access salvation.  (John 8:36)

- He was separated from His Father to reconcile you to Him. (Hebrews 10:19-22)

- He conquered death to give you eternal life. (Romans 6:23)

You have everything in Christ: peace, liberty, forgiveness, victory, and eternal life!

We should celebrate Jesus’s resurrection, not only at Easter but every day!

In your journal, write out John 10:10. Thank Jesus for everything He endured out of love for you so that you can have life in abundance.

Think of someone who isn’t so sure what they believe. How can you share God’s love with them? Pray for them and plan your first step to reach out to them.
