Change your Thinking

January 30, 2024

Hey Clawson Family,

Time to get today's devotion on!

Song:

Scripture:

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

”And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.“

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

”Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.“

Devotion:

Pastor Josh quoted this weekend “if I think I can or I think I can’t I am right!” Our  lives follow the direction of our thoughts. When we know the word and the truth, then we are able to equipped ourselves to change the trajectory of our lives.

If we know that our lives are moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts, then we need to ask ourselves, “Do I like the direction my thoughts are taking me?”

If your answer is no, then maybe it’s time to change your thinking. Maybe it’s time to decide to change your mind so God can change your life.

With God’s help, you can transform your mind. You can stop believing the lies that hold you back. You can end the vicious cycle of thoughts that are destructive to you and others. You can allow God to renew your mind by saturating you with His unchanging truth.

Journal:

Our lives are always moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts. In your journal write down where you think your life is headed, based on your thoughts? Is there anything you would like to change about your destination?

Training:

Create a truth statement to combat lies you’re believing, then commit to declaring it over yourself every day for 30 days.
