 The Joy of Heaven

February 11, 2025

Hey Clawson Family

Song:

Scripture:

Luke 15:3-7 (NLT)

“There is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!”

Devotional :

Imagine the sound of heaven erupting in joyful celebration every time someone turns to Jesus. The Bible tells us that when a lost soul finds their way home, all of heaven rejoices. It’s not a quiet acknowledgment—it’s a full-blown celebration! This shows us something profound about the heart of God: He delights in redemption.

Think about the father in the parable of the prodigal son. When his lost son returned, he didn’t lecture him or make him earn his way back.

Instead, he ran to him, embraced him, and threw a feast! This is the heart of our Father—full of grace, love, and joy over every soul that returns to Him.

If heaven is celebrating, then we should, too! Our church is a place of joy because we recognize the powerful work God is doing in people’s lives. Salvation is not just a private moment; it’s a reason to rejoice as a community. Every testimony of redemption, every baptism, every life changed by Jesus is a reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

Let’s be a church that celebrates salvation with the same passion as heaven. Let’s welcome people with open arms, rejoice over their transformation, and create an atmosphere where the joy of the Lord is contagious. Because when one person comes home to Jesus, we don’t just witness a life change—we witness the heart of God in action.

Training:

Jesus, thank You for pursuing the lost with such love. Thank You for the joy of salvation! Help us to see people the way You do and to rejoice over every soul that comes to You. Fill our hearts with gratitude and celebration, just as heaven rejoices. Let our church be a place where people experience Your love and the joy of belonging to Your family. In Jesus’ name, Amen
