Scripture:

 Daniel 1:8 (NIV)“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself…”

Devotional:

One of the greatest weapons in spiritual warfare is a pre-made decision. Daniel didn’t wait until he was staring at the king’s buffet to decide whether he’d stay holy — he resolved beforehand. Temptation loses its power when your mind is already made up.

Think about how much drama and regret could be avoided if we decided ahead of time to stay faithful. A made-up mind protects you in the moment, because the battle was already won before it even started. Temptation is loud, but clarity is louder when you've already chosen your path.

Journal Questions:

1. Where do I often feel tempted or compromised?

2. What decisions can I pre-make today to guard my integrity tomorrow?

3. Am I reacting or responding in my spiritual life?

Challenge:

Identify one temptation you regularly face and write a pre-decision statement like: “When I feel ___, I will choose ___.”

Prayer:

Lord, help me to be like Daniel — resolved before the pressure comes. Teach me to walk in wisdom and stay one step ahead of the enemy by making up my mind to honor You. Amen.
