Replace the Lies

May 30, 2025

Hey Clawson Family

Scripture:

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”— John 8:32 (NIV)

Devotional:

Lies are sneaky—they often sound like your own voice, your past, or your fear. But the truth? Truth speaks like freedom. The way we defeat lies is not by ignoring them but by replacing them with truth. Just like a dark room doesn’t need to be swept of darkness, it simply needs light—your mind doesn’t need to be cleaned of every lie, it just needs to be filled with truth.

Jesus didn’t just come to forgive your sins—He came to free your mind. When the enemy says, “You’ll never change,” the Word says, “You are a new creation.” Every time a lie comes, answer it with a better word—the Word of God.

Journal Questions:

  • What is one lie I’ve believed for too long?

  • What truth does God want me to replace it with?

Challenge:

Create a “Truth List.” Write 3 lies you’ve battled and the Scripture that defeats each one. Read it daily this week.

Prayer:

Lord, I reject the lies that have tried to define me. Help me to recognize them quickly and replace them with Your truth. Let my mind be filled with the promises of Your Word so I can walk in freedom. Amen.
