The Power of Humility

March 19, 2025

Hey Clawson family!

Song:

Scripture:

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” – James 4:6 (NIV)

Devotional:

Pride keeps us from admitting when we’re wrong. It whispers excuses like, “It wasn’t that bad,” or “They should apologize first.” But humility leads to healing. When we acknowledge our mistakes and seek reconciliation, God pours out His grace. Apologizing doesn’t make us weak—it reflects the strength of Christ working in us.

Journal Questions:

1. What is your first reaction when you realize you’re wrong? Do you defend yourself or humble yourself?

2. How has pride prevented reconciliation in your relationships?

3. What would change if you embraced humility in your interactions with others?

Challenge:

Today, practice humility. If you’ve wronged someone, acknowledge it without excuses. Let go of the need to be right and prioritize restoring the relationship.

Prayer:

Jesus, You showed the ultimate example of humility. Teach me to follow Your example and put aside my pride. Help me to see that apologizing and making things right is a sign of strength, not weakness. Give me the courage to walk in humility. In Your name, Amen.
