You Are Part of the Body

February 5, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)

“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”

Devotional:

A guitar is incomplete without all its strings, just as the body of Christ is incomplete without you. Your role in the Church is vital. You were created with unique gifts, passions, and abilities that were meant to strengthen and build up the body of Christ.

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t belong, know this: God has placed you in His family for a reason. Your presence matters. Your gifts matter. Step into the role He has designed for you.

Maybe you’ve looked at others and thought they were more gifted, more important, or more useful in God’s kingdom. But God’s Word tells us something different—you are an essential part of the body of Christ.

Paul compares the church to a human body, where every part has a purpose. The hands, feet, eyes, and ears all function differently, yet each is necessary (1 Corinthians 12:12-26). Just as the body wouldn’t function properly without a single part, the church needs every believer, including you.

Perhaps your role is behind the scenes—serving, encouraging, or praying. Maybe you teach, lead, or create. Whatever your gifting, God has uniquely placed you in His body to fulfill a purpose only you can.

Journal:

Answer the following questions in your journal

1. What gifts has God given you to serve His body?

2. Are you embracing your role, or have you been doubting your significance?

3. How can you encourage others in the body of Christ today?

Training:

Father, thank You for making me a part of Your body.  Help me to embrace the role You’ve given me and serve with joy. Remind me that no part is too small or unimportant in Your kingdom. Use me for Your glory and help me to encourage others in their calling. Show me how I can use my gifts to serve and strengthen Your Church. Help me to find my place and fulfill my role with joy. Amen.

Remember, you matter. You belong. You are a part of the body!
