Your Body is a Tool for the Kingdom

March 13, 2025

Hey Clawson family!

Song:

Scripture:

John 10:10 (NIV) – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NIV) – “If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.”

Devotion:

A dull axe requires more effort to cut through wood, just as an unhealthy body makes it harder to serve effectively. Many of us are working hard in life, but we feel drained and ineffective because we aren’t sharpening our bodies through proper care.

Application:

• Evaluate whether you are living with vitality or just barely getting by.

• Find one way to “sharpen your axe” today—whether it’s exercising, eating well, or prioritizing sleep.

Journal Questions:

1. What are some ways that poor health has limited my ability to serve God effectively?

2. Am I treating my body like a dull axe that needs sharpening?

3. What one step can I take today to become stronger for God’s work?

Challenge:

Move your body today! Take a short walk, stretch, or do an activity that refreshes your energy and strengthens you for God’s work.
