Communion is a Celebration, Not a Funeral
April 29, 2025
Hey Clawson Family!
Scripture:1 Corinthians 11:26 (NLT) — "For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again."
Devotional:
Communion is not a memorial service filled with mourning. It’s a celebration — a joyful declaration that death didn’t win. The cross wasn’t the end; it was the setup for the greatest comeback in history. Every time we take the bread and the cup, we celebrate not just what Jesus did, but what He is doing and will do when He returns.
Journal Questions:
Have I been approaching communion more like a funeral or a celebration?
How can I stir my heart to joy when remembering Christ’s sacrifice?
Challenge:
Today, intentionally celebrate what Christ has done. Smile. Sing. Worship. Announce His victory with your words, actions, and attitude.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that the cross was not the end. Thank You for resurrection life! Help me to live today with the joy of someone who knows that victory is mine because of You.
