Confront Division to Protect Community

November 12, 2024

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

 Titus 3:10 NLT

If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.

Devotional:

It is vital for us to stay united as a church family. When someone keeps causing divisions, it's important that we address it—not in a harsh way, but with both love and firmness. I get that it can be tough, and sometimes we have to have hard conversations or make difficult decisions. But doing so helps protect our community and keeps us focused on the health and mission of our church.

I want to make this personal. If there are people in your life who are stirring up division between you and your relationship with God or you and your relationship with God’s family, they need to be given a first and second warning, and after that… If they continue, then they cannot have the influence in your life that they have, or it is a danger to your relationship with God and his people.

Journal:

Take some time to assess the relationships in your life. Are there any who are causing divisions between me and my relationship with God or His family?  In your journal today, write down how you can address this and what steps you can take to move forward. What are some things that you can begin to do today to maintain unity in the church family?

Training:

I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone to address issues you may have been avoiding, such as gossip or negative talk within a church group. Begin to Pray for wisdom and courage, seeking guidance from scripture!
