Devotional:
From the very beginning, God designed humanity for relationship. Even before sin entered the world, God declared that it was “not good” for Adam to be alone. This highlights a foundational truth: we are created to flourish in community. We reflect the communal nature of God Himself—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who exist in eternal, loving fellowship.
Throughout Scripture, we see the emphasis on believers coming together, bearing one another’s burdens, and encouraging each other (Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 10:24–25). When we join others in faith, we experience God’s presence in a unique way. Our shared worship, our collective prayer, and our acts of service all testify to the life-giving power of community.
Yet community is more than just sharing a meal or filling seats in a sanctuary. True biblical community is about vulnerability, accountability, and unity of purpose in Christ. We can celebrate together in times of joy and mourn together in times of sorrow. When we gather in the name of Jesus, we remind each other of God’s truth, help one another to grow in maturity, and serve the world as His hands and feet.
Take time today to reflect on the relationships God has placed in your life. Are you investing in healthy, meaningful connections? Are you being intentional to encourage and uplift those around you in Christ? As you seek to build and strengthen your community, remember that you are living out your God-given design—to be known, loved, and supported in a shared pursuit of knowing Jesus more deeply.
Life is meant to be celebrated, and God designed us to do it together. Being part of a church family means walking alongside each other in every season—celebrating victories, encouraging through struggles, and growing in faith together. When we recognize God’s presence in our lives and in our church, we can truly rejoice in each day.
Journal:
Answer the following the questions in your journal:
In what ways have you experienced God’s presence and love through community?
How can you be more intentional about building deeper connections with other believers?
Is there anyone around you who might need an invitation into deeper fellowship?
Training:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating me for relationship and placing me in community. Thank You for the gift of community. Help me to treasure the people You have put in my life and to serve them with humility and love. May our fellowship reflect Your grace, and may we spur one another on to grow in our faith. Teach us to care for one another selflessly and to invite others to experience the joy of community in You. Help me to be a source of encouragement and joy to those around me. Let my life be a reflection of the joy found in You. Amen.
