Created with Purpose
February 3, 2025
Hey Clawson family!
Song:
Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” –
Devotional:
Have you ever felt like you were just existing rather than living? God’s purpose for your life is not random. He designed you with intention, just like a guitar string is created to make music. You might try to use your life for something else, but true fulfillment comes when you operate in the way God designed you.
Have you ever looked at a beautifully crafted piece of art and admired the detail and intentionality behind it? Every brushstroke, every color choice, and every texture was purposefully designed by the artist. In the same way, you are God’s masterpiece, uniquely created with purpose and intention.
Many times, we struggle with feelings of insignificance or wonder if our lives truly matter. But Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are not accidents—we are God’s handiwork. The Creator of the universe carefully formed you, equipping you with gifts, talents, and experiences that align with the purpose He has for you.
Your purpose is not just about achieving success in the world’s eyes but about fulfilling the good works that God has already prepared for you. These “good works” could be as grand as leading a ministry or as simple as showing kindness to a stranger. Every action done in love and obedience to God reflects His divine purpose in your life.
When you feel lost or uncertain about your path, remember that your purpose is not something you have to create on your own—it’s something God has already designed for you. Seek Him, trust His plan, and walk confidently, knowing that you were created with purpose.
Take time today to ask God, “What is Your original intent for my life?” He has placed you exactly where you need to be, and He has a purpose for you to accomplish.
Journal:
Answer the following questions in your journal:
1. In what ways have you seen God’s purpose at work in your life?
2. What gifts or passions has God given you to fulfill His calling?
3. How can you trust God more in the areas where you feel uncertain about your purpose?
Training:
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with intention and purpose. Help me to trust in Your plan for my life and to walk in the good works You have prepared for me. Open my heart to see the ways I can glorify You in both big and small ways. Use my gifts, my time, and my life for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
You were created with purpose—walk in it today
