Declare His Greatness

February 27, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

Malachi 4:2 – “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings.”

Psalm 145:3 (NIV)- "Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."

Devotional:

God’s greatness is a theme that reverberates throughout the Bible. His power, wisdom, and love are immeasurable, and His deeds are beyond human comprehension. Psalm 145 highlights this truth beautifully, declaring that no one can truly fathom the greatness of God. This is a reminder for us, as believers, to pause and reflect on who God is and how He has revealed His greatness in our lives.

When we think about declaring God's greatness, it’s not just about acknowledging His magnificence in a distant or abstract way. It’s a call to recognize His greatness in our everyday lives. Whether we see His work in creation, experience His provision, or feel His presence in our hearts, we are called to proclaim His greatness with gratitude and joy.

But what does it mean to "declare" His greatness? It means more than just saying words or offering praise in a prayer. To declare God’s greatness is to testify with our actions, to live in a way that reflects the awe and reverence we have for Him. When we declare God’s greatness, we are sharing the story of His goodness, love, and faithfulness, not just in words but also in how we live and love others.

It’s also important to note that this declaration of greatness isn’t just for the believer. The psalmist reminds us in Psalm 145 that we should "tell of the glorious splendor of [God's] majesty" to the next generation (verse 4). This is an intergenerational call. We are entrusted with the privilege of passing on the knowledge of God’s greatness to our children and to those around us.

Declaring God’s greatness shifts our perspective. When we speak out His power and faithfulness, our fears shrink. The woman with the issue of blood testified about her healing, reinforcing her faith and glorifying Jesus. Likewise, when we proclaim His power over our circumstances, we align our hearts with His truth.

Take time today to declare God’s power over your situation. Speak His promises aloud. Let your words build your faith.

Let today be a reminder to declare God's greatness in everything you do, for He is truly worthy of all praise and honor!

Journal:

In your journal reflect on the greatness of God in your life today. How has He shown His greatness to you?

Declare His greatness not only with your words but through your actions. How can you live in a way that reflects His majesty?

Training:

Heavenly Father, I stand in awe of Your greatness. Your love is vast, Your power is endless, and Your wisdom is beyond my understanding. Help me to declare Your greatness in every aspect of my lives, not only with my words but with my actions. I declare that You are my healer, my provider, and my peace. You are greater than any trial I face. I trust in Your power today. May my lives be a testimony to Your goodness, and may I pass on the knowledge of Your greatness to others, especially to those who need to hear of Your wonder and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
