Fear Delays Obedience

April 16, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Scripture:

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

Devotional:

Delayed obedience is still disobedience. Timidity often shows up in the form of overthinking or hesitating when God gives us clear direction. Like Moses and Gideon, we can stall by asking for signs or waiting for the “perfect” moment. But delayed obedience can cost us divine appointments and missed impact.

Journal Questions:

  • What is something God has asked me to do that I’ve put off?

  • Why have I delayed?

  • What would obedience look like today?

Challenge:

Identify one area where you’ve been slow to obey God—and take action on it this week.

Prayer:

Jesus, forgive me for the times I’ve let fear slow me down. I want to be a person who moves when You speak. Help me to obey with confidence, knowing You’re with me every step. Amen.
