Fear Distorts Your Identity
April 14, 2025
Hey Clawson Family!
Scripture:
Exodus 3:11 (NLT) – “But Moses protested to God, ‘Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?’”
Devotional:
Fear often makes us question who we are and what we’re capable of. Just like Moses, we see our weaknesses and forget that God’s calling comes with His presence and power. When timidity takes root, it reshapes our identity based on insecurity instead of God’s truth. But our identity isn't in our past or our skillset—it's in being a child of God, empowered by Him.
Journal Questions:
In what areas do I tend to view myself through the lens of insecurity?
How does God describe me in His Word?
What would change if I believed I am who He says I am?
Challenge:
Declare out loud today who you are in Christ. Replace a negative thought about yourself with a scripture that affirms your true identity.
Prayer:
God, help me to stop looking at my life through the lens of my limitations. Remind me that my identity is found in You. I am chosen, called, and empowered. Give me courage to step into what You’ve spoken over me. Amen.
