How do I live an Emotionally Healthy Life?
February 2, 2024
Hey Clawson Family
It's Friday! Let's end this week of devotions with a bang!
Song:
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 10:5 New Living Translation
5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
Philippians 4:8 New Living Translation
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Devotion:
Last week Pastor Josh gave us 3 ways to help us live an emotionally healthy life.
1. Be careful what you feed your mind
Books, music, movies, shows, reading… every bit of that affects how you think. If you put trash into your mind, you should expect trash to come out of your mind in how you are thinking. So, you need to pay more attention to that and put into your mind what you want to grow in your thoughts.
2. Capture your rebellious thoughts - Kick out the thoughts that need to go
When you realize what you are thinking is messed up, don’t be ok with it. Capture those thoughts and get your thoughts back in line.
3. Think on the right things
If you can do this… feed your mind good things, capture your wrong thoughts, and think on the right things, you can change the way that you think with the help of God and become super emotionally healthy in your life.
Journal: In your quiet time write down how you can these 3 principles and how you can apply them to your life to help you become more emotionally healthy.
Training: Identify things that you are feeding your mind: books, movies, music that need to go and get rid of them
