Keep Asking for Your Miracle
September 10, 2024
Hey Clawson Family,
Song:
Scripture:
James 5:16
16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
James 4:2
2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
Matthew 21:21-22
21 Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.22 You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”
Matthew 7:7-8
Effective Prayer
7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Devotional:
Have you ever had to ask someone for something several times, and they got mad at you for bothering them? Sometimes, we feel like we bother God when we ask for something more than once. We can worry that God is going to stop listening to us. The truth is that God never gets sick of us asking him for anything. This is what Jesus wants to understand in Matthew. God wants us to keep on asking and telling him things. God wants us to talk to him constantly. Maybe God didn’t answer a prayer in the past, and now you are struggling to speak with him, or perhaps you have felt like God has been silent, so you stopped talking to him, but Jesus wants us to do things differently. Jesus wants us to understand that we need to keep on seeking God.
Ask God for your miracle, seek Him, and knock until He opens the door. Prayer is the necessary ingredient that gets things moving in the Spirit realm. In James, we read The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
Ask and believe without a doubt. Sometimes, we don’t pray with persistence because we have doubts or maybe even feelings of unworthiness. You need to stand firm on the word of God that says you are forgiven of ALL sins and accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven. There is great power in your prayers! They will produce wonderful results. This confidence is the hidden key that gives you the ability to believe that God hears you and will respond to your pleas. When we know our position in Christ and our position in the family of God, we won’t hesitate to approach the throne of God in prayer when we have a need.
Journal:
Today, in your journal, write a letter to God and bring any request you have to him. Be sure to be completely honest with God and remember to keep on asking him.
Training:
Pray with God’s kingdom purposes in mind, visualize your miracle, and be willing to do your part. Do what God has told you to do. Then, refuse to give up. Begin asking God for that miracle.
