Leadership Happens at Clawson

October 31, 2024

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

John 13:12-17

12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? 13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. 15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. 16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. 17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.

Devotional:

All of us are leaders, some good, some bad. Some Godly leaders, some not so Godly leaders.

There are two key things when it comes to leadership. Your influence that you are using with the people you have influence with, and Godly leadership is centered around serving others.

So, what is the move today when it comes to everyone stepping up to lead.  You need to use your influence in a Godly way, to serve God’s church.

I would like to give you Opportunities to Serve:

  1. Sign up to serve your church and your community by helping with Fall Fest Nov 17th.

  1. Come and serve the church by helping us build bicycles on Sunday December 8th from 4 pm to 8 pm. Or Wednesday December 11 from 5 - 8 pm.

  1. December 15, we will be giving out 1,000 bikes starting that sunday morning to every child that comes to church, and if there are extra bikes then we will be going out that day to bless families with bikes. So there are tons of opportunities coming up for you to serve.

Opportunities to use your influence in a Godly way:

  1. Make a commitment to start building relationships with people who are not Christian, and invite them to church on one of these days where we are having big events go on.

  1. Use your influence, to get people closer to Jesus, that is discipleship.

Journal:

As you think about putting servant leadership into practice, what are some of the challenges you face? Write them in your journal. Write down some ways that you can serve those around you.

Training:

Dear Lord,

Show me what it means to lead with confidence and humility. Help me see how to genuinely serve those I am called to lead. May my leadership imitate yours and glorify you.

 Amen.
