Make Visible Progress

January 30, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

“Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.” — 1 Timothy 4:15 (ESV)

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

Devotional :

In our walk with God, it is essential not only to grow spiritually but also to show visible progress in our character, faith, and actions. Often, we desire change, but without intentional effort, our growth remains hidden or stagnant. God calls us to be light in the world—our lives should reflect His glory in a way that others can see and be inspired.

1. Growth Must Be Evident

When a seed is planted, it takes time to sprout, but eventually, growth becomes visible. Likewise, as we develop in faith, wisdom, and love, those around us should witness the transformation. James 2:18 reminds us, “Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” Your faith should produce results—kindness, patience, forgiveness, generosity, and excellence in whatever you do.

2. Progress Requires Action

Paul urged Timothy, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.” (1 Timothy 4:15). Spiritual and personal growth require dedication. Reading the Word, praying consistently, serving others, and improving in your calling will lead to visible progress. Are you growing in love? In discipline? In obedience to God? Let your daily life testify to your progress.

3. Your Growth Brings Glory to God

When others see transformation in your life—whether in your attitude, speech, diligence, or service—it draws attention not to you but to God. Just as a city on a hill cannot be hidden, your progress should shine as evidence of God’s work in you.

Spiritual growth isn’t just about personal transformation—it’s also a testimony to others. When we grow in maturity, the fruit of that progress becomes evident in our words, actions, and relationships. Are you still battling the same struggles, or are you making visible progress in your walk with Christ?

Let your progress be seen, not for self-glory, but to reflect the goodness of God! Keep growing, keep shining!

Journal:

Take time to reflect in your journal on how far you’ve come in your faith journey. Celebrate progress, no matter how small. Then, ask God to show you one area where He’s calling you to take your next step.

Training:

Lord, help me to grow in ways that bring glory to You. Let my faith be visible in my actions, my love be evident in my relationships, and my progress be a testimony of Your grace. Strengthen me to walk in obedience, so that my life may shine as a light for others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
