Reframing Starts with Renewing

May 20, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Scripture:

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Devotional:

Reframing your life begins by renewing your mind. This is not about slapping a Bible verse over a toxic mindset—it’s about renovation, not decoration. Real renewal means letting God go beneath the surface, tear out the lies, and rebuild your thinking with truth. It’s uncomfortable, it’s messy, and it takes time—but the result is transformation.

Like a house remodel, renewing your mind doesn’t happen overnight. Some strongholds have been standing for years, built by trauma, fear, or culture. But God specializes in transformation, and as we surrender to Him, He begins the holy work of renewing what’s broken. Don't despise the process—embrace it. The renovation might be painful, but the end result is freedom and clarity.

Journal Questions:

  1. What old pattern or mindset is God asking me to renovate?

  2. Where have I been trying to decorate instead of letting God demo?

Challenge:

Write down one lie you've believed about yourself. Then, find and write a scripture that replaces it with God’s truth.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I give You permission to renovate my thoughts. Tear down what needs to go. Rebuild what needs to stand. I trust You with the mess, and I believe in the masterpiece You’re creating. Renew my mind day by day.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
