Serving Together

January 24, 2025

Hey Clawson Family!

Song:

Scripture:

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another.

1 Peter 4:10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Devotional:

Life is not meant to be done in isolation. God designed us for community, and one of the most profound ways to deepen that sense of togetherness is through serving alongside others. When we join hands in service—whether within a church ministry, a local outreach, or even a small act of kindness—we are not only fulfilling God’s calling but also building relationships that are rooted in love and purpose.

Serving together connects us on a deeper level. It allows us to see the unique gifts and talents that God has placed in others. As we work toward a common goal, we experience the joy of teamwork, the encouragement of shared efforts, and the unity that comes from being part of something bigger than ourselves.

Moreover, serving strengthens the community of believers while impacting the world for Christ. It is an opportunity to reflect His love and grace to others, showing that faith in action is a powerful testimony. Whether it’s starting a new initiative or stepping into an established role, serving shifts our focus outward, reminding us that we are part of God’s mission to further His kingdom.

Take time to pray about how you can serve with your people. Invite your friends, family, or small group to join you in a ministry or outreach project. Together, you will not only grow closer as a community but also experience the incredible ways God works through His people when they serve in unity.

Journal:

Answer the following questions in your journal:

• What are some ways you can serve alongside your community this week?

• How has serving with others strengthened your relationships in the past?

• What gifts or talents can you bring to further God’s kingdom in partnership with others?

Training:

Identify an area where you feel called to serve in your church or community. Invite someone to join you, and make serving together a regular part of your life.

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us to live in community and for giving us unique gifts to serve You and others. Help us to see opportunities to serve alongside those in our lives and to grow closer to one another as we work together for Your glory. May our service bring others closer to You and further Your kingdom on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
