The Heart of Reconciliation
March 17, 2025
Hey Clawson family!
Song:
Scripture:
Matthew 5:23-24
“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.”
Devotional:
Jesus teaches that reconciliation takes priority over religious acts. Our worship is incomplete when we have unresolved issues with others. Apologizing is an act of humility that aligns our hearts with God’s heart for unity. God cares about our relationships, and He calls us to take action when there is brokenness.
Journal Questions:
1. Is there someone I need to seek reconciliation with?
2. How do I typically respond when I’ve hurt someone?
3. What is holding me back from apologizing?
Challenge:
Identify one person you need to apologize to and take action today. Whether it’s a conversation, text, or letter, prioritize making things right.
Prayer:
Lord, soften my heart to see where I have hurt others. Give me the courage to seek reconciliation and humility to offer sincere apologies. Help me love others the way You love me. Amen.
