The Power of Testimony
February 13, 2025
Hey Clawson Family!
Song:
Scripture:
Revelation 12:11 (NLT)
“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”
Devotional:
Testimonies are powerful. They are not just personal stories; they are living declarations of God’s goodness, grace, and power in our lives. When we share our testimonies, we are inviting others to witness the transformative work of God and to be encouraged that He is still moving in the world today.
In Revelation 12:11, the verse reminds us of the victory we have in Christ, and it emphasizes two key elements: the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. The blood of Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice that paved the way for our salvation, healing, and deliverance. But it’s through the testimony of what He has done that we experience and proclaim that victory. Our testimonies become weapons of spiritual warfare, overcoming the enemy’s lies and doubts with the truth of God’s faithfulness.
The Power of Sharing Our Stories
When we share what God has done in our lives, we are giving others hope. We are declaring that the God who delivered, healed, and provided for us is the same God who can do it for them. A testimony of healing can inspire someone else to believe for their own miracle. A story of overcoming addiction can be the key to someone finding the strength to break free. A financial breakthrough may ignite faith in someone struggling with their own provision.
In our testimonies, God’s power is magnified. It’s a reminder that He is alive and active, working in and through His people. And it’s through our testimonies that we are able to honor Him and point others toward His goodness. When we testify, we aren’t just telling a story; we are glorifying God and drawing others closer to His presence.
The Courage to Speak Up
Sometimes, sharing our testimony can feel intimidating. We may worry that our story isn’t powerful enough or that others won’t understand. But the beauty of a testimony is that it is uniquely personal, and it’s not about how grand or polished it sounds—it’s about how God’s love has touched our lives.
In Acts 4:20, Peter and John boldly declare, “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”This passion to speak about what God has done should be in each of us. It’s not about our ability or eloquence but about our willingness to share what God has done. Even the smallest story can make the biggest difference.
Never underestimate the power of your testimony. It’s not just your story—it’s God’s story of redemption. And in sharing it, you join in the eternal work of declaring His glory to the world.
When we share what God has done in our lives, it builds faith in others and reminds us of His power. Every testimony of transformation—whether through baptism, small groups, or the Heart Center—is a declaration of God’s goodness. Our stories matter because they point people to Jesus and encourage others to believe that He can do the same for them.
Journal:
Answer the following questions in your journal:
How has God moved in your life recently? Is there a story you could share to encourage someone else?
Are there fears or doubts that hold you back from sharing your testimony? Ask God for boldness and courage.
Training:
Consider who you can share your testimony with this week. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or stranger, your story could be the one thing that leads them to experience God’s love and power.
Lord, thank You for the work You are doing in my life and in the lives of those around me. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and love that have carried me through every season. I pray that You would give me the courage to share my testimony with others so they can experience Your goodness. Help me to speak boldly of Your faithfulness and let my story be a reflection of Your power to heal, deliver, and transform. Give me the courage to share my testimony and celebrate Your faithfulness. Amen.
