The Power of the Tithe

February 27, 2024

Hey Church Family,

Lets get ready to start this day off right!

Song:

Scripture:

Malachi 3:10-13

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! 11 Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease.[a] Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 12 “Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Devotion:

If you want God to bless your finances, put him first in your finances. You do this by tithing.

God wants you to make a habit of giving him the first part of your income. Obviously, God doesn’t need your money. So why does he even say anything about tithing? Because he wants what it represents: your life. God is testing your faith. He’s testing your priorities. He’s testing your gratitude.

Tithing is a test of your trust. Do you trust God enough with your money to say those things to him? God tests us because he wants us to become like him. He is the greatest giver, and when we show that we are trustworthy with our finances, we become more like Him.

Tithing can seem especially difficult when you’re in debt. But if you want to get out of debt, you’re going to need God’s help. So honor him by putting him first through tithing.

You may think you can’t afford to tithe, but you can’t afford not to! If you want God’s blessing on your finances, you need to put him first in your finances.

Journal:

Write in your Journal where would you most like to give generously, if money were not an issue, Hint: what are you most passionate about regarding God’s kingdom? How generous would you like to be in five years? Write down in your journal the steps you need to take to get there.

Training:

If you are not currently tithing, commit to the three month challenge. Rewrite Malachi 3:10-12 as a promise from God to you. Post it where you will see it everyday.

To increase your faith and develop God’s perspective of money, read, The Blessed Life, by Robert Morris. Ask God to do a supernatural work in your heart.
