Scripture: 

Romans 7:23 (NLT)"But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind."

Devotional:

Have you ever felt like you're being pulled in two directions — one part of you wants to follow God with everything, and the other part keeps pulling you back into old habits or toxic thoughts? Paul describes this exact experience in Romans 7. The war he’s talking about isn’t external — it’s happening right in our minds. Every day, our thoughts are either moving us closer to God or pulling us further from His purpose. What you think eventually becomes what you do.

This truth should cause us to pause and take inventory. If we’re not intentional about guarding our minds and aligning our thoughts with God’s truth, we will lose battles before we ever act on them. The enemy doesn’t need to destroy your life if he can distract your mind. But the good news is that the war in your mind isn’t yours to fight alone — Jesus is your victory. Your first step is to become aware that the battle is happening.

• What thoughts are winning the most space in your mind lately?

Spend 5 minutes today in silence with God, asking Him to reveal any internal battles you’ve been ignoring.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for understanding my struggle. Help me become aware of the thoughts pulling me away from You. Teach me how to fight with truth and walk in the freedom You already won. Amen.
