1 Peter 2:9-11 NLT

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,g a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

10“Once you had no identity as a people;

now you are God’s people.

Once you received no mercy;

now you have received God’s mercy.”h

11Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 

Devotional:

We are so valuable to him that he gave up everything for us!

I know we say this all the time, and because we say it all the time I think there is a temptation to downplay how big of a deal this is. So, let me ask this question. Would you leave heaven, a place of no tears, no sin, no darkness, where you are experiencing the presence of God on a whole different level to come to earth?  So that you can be rejected, doubted, spit upon, beaten, and killed all by the people that you left heaven for? 

Jesus left the Kingdom of Heaven, to come down to live and die in the Kingdom of Earth, so that you and I could join him in the Kingdom of Heaven when we are no longer in the Kingdom of Earth. That is a big deal! He loved us so much that he made us a part of His Kingdom.

You're a chosen people, a Royal priesthood, a holy nation. God's special possession. You are a citizen of heaven. And check this out because of what Jesus has done, because of what Jesus is doing, because of what Jesus will do, the kingdom of Heaven can be experienced on earth as it is in Heaven. 

We've actually been invited to be a part of that right now. Even though the kingdom of heaven is not yet here in full, it is here in part. Which is why we are able to feel the presence of God, to experience healings, to receive prophetic words, when God does something in the supernatural here on earth, we are experiencing his Kingdom in part on earth. Isn't that cool.

Journal:

In your journal today write down Where you put your value and self-worth. Next time you look in the mirror, remind yourself that you are looking at someone who is valuable to God.

God, 

Our value is not from ourselves or from anything we do or don’t do. Our worth is from you! Thank you that we are your creation, your children, and the blessed recipients of your unconditional love. Thank you for seeing value in us and allowing us to be citizens of Heaven! Let our life reflect that!
