You Are Invited to the Table

April 28, 2025

Hey Clawson family!

Scripture:

Luke 22:19 (NLT) — “He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’”

Devotional Reflection:

When Jesus invited His disciples to the table, He didn’t choose the perfect. He chose the messy — the doubters, the deniers, the betrayers. Yet, He still served them. He still broke the bread and offered the cup. Communion reminds us that grace doesn’t require perfection. It welcomes the broken and the weary. No matter what your week has looked like, Jesus still invites you to His table today.

Journal Questions:

  • Do I ever feel unworthy to be close to Jesus? Why?

  • What does it mean to me that Jesus invites everyone to His table?

Challenge:

Reflect on someone you know who feels “too broken” to approach God. Pray for them today — and if possible, reach out and remind them: Jesus’ table is open to them too.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for inviting me even when I feel unworthy. Help me to receive Your grace today with humility and joy. Teach me to extend that same invitation to others.
