A habit of Prayer

January 19, 2024

Clawson Family,

Get ready to worship Jesus, this devo is about to go down.

Scriptures for the Day:

Colossians 4:2-6 New Living Translation

An Encouragement for Prayer

2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.

5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive[a] so that you will have the right response for everyone.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 New Living Translation

16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying.

We have been working our muscle of prayer all week and we know that prayer is important. The issue that some of us have is consistently. Busy work schedules, the distractions, the demands of daily life, its easy for us to sometimes put prayer on the back burner. I want to encourage you to make a habit of prayer! Become ADDICTED to prayer!

Set a timer, get a routine! Be consisent!

Don’t look at prayer as something that has to be checked off the list. It’s not a duty! It’s a privilege. Prayer the opportunity to have conversation and build your relationship with the Lord. The more you pray the more you will want to!

Journal:

Write down your prayers in your journal. Be specific! Pray scriptures. Writing down your prayers will help you to stay focused but also allow you to go back and see when God answers your prayers!

Training:

Don’t just think I need to pray! Do it! Remember prayer is just talking to God. You can do it anytime and anywhere!

Have a great day: Josh
